Everything changes

Hello!

Wow, it feels like forever since I have even put pen to paper, or fingers to keys to upload to this dearly missed blog. I don't even know where to begin in explaining where I have been, why I have been absent and why I chose to take a step back. Sometimes life just brings you for a journey and you ride with it to see where you're going then it's 2 years later and you haven't posted online!

In May 2016 I found myself leaving college, while I was mentally finished with college and my course and absolutely ready for a new challenge I was terrified of the unknown but also excited for the possibilities, independence and happiness it would bring. My college years were some of the best and even now I look back with rose tinted glasses when I think of the fun that we had. I think of the late night (early morning) parties, Rag week, the insane essays and overall just the enjoyment of being a college student. I had a 5 long years as an Under-grad and I truly think it helped to shape me into who I have become and who I wish to become in the future.

Shortly after I finished college I moved away from my freelancing Makeup work, I needed something more permanent to support my travelling desires. I was quite fortunate in the fact that I found a job in Dublin just before I finished my exams so I had a few days to myself then went off to start my career. The door opened and I walked in expecting to be an extra in ''The Devil wears prada'' while the reality that faced me was more like 'The office'. The first 6 months were grueling with 6am rises, long commutes and even tougher challenges. I persevered and hoped for a brighter day, over time that role granted my many opportunities, I was able to express my creativity while also sticking to the corporate role I was placed in. I also managed to meet some of the most incredible people I've ever met, I got to reconnect with a close friend from college. There was always something fun and I was so heartbroken to leave such amazing people behind. After 18 months in that role I had to say goodbye to the friends and memories, goodbye to the social life and the city life and took on a new adventure - A move to Kerry!

Circumstances change for us all and for myself something was off balance, I was living the corporate life in Dublin, sipping my cocktails of a Tuesday with the girls in the local swanky bar while my weekend were spent travelling up and down the country to the wild south west. Something had to give. I decided to put my personal life over my corporate and packed all of my clothes (and way too many pairs of shoes) up and moved to the Kingdom. I arrived in Kerry right in the middle of winter, storms were everywhere, all I can remember was the rain and fear of being away from home.

I can honestly say that moving to Kerry has possibly been the best thing I have ever done for myself. It has promoted my independence to meet new people, get involved in the community and understand a more rural mindset. Kerry has also been a blessing in that I get to return home to the one I love the most and that is a gift in itself. At first I couldn't understand half of the accents but 6 months in and I'm almost a local ;)
I share a lot of my Kerry experiences over on my Instagram page if you fancy seeing some of the epic cliffs, beaches and viewsClick here

My 25th Birthday is just around the corner and I feel content in knowing I approach it with many accomplishments and happy memories created along the way. I can only imagine the next 25 will be just as memorable with many plot twists along the way.
